The vista is constantly changing as the tide sweeps in and out revealing sandy coves just below The Lighthouse. The beautiful beaches of Porthminster, Lambeth Walk and the Harbour are all within a few minutes walk.

A couple of minutes walk along The Warren brings you to Lambeth Walk one way or Porthminster beach the other way. Just past Harbour Beach is the small Bamaluz beach which then leads to Porthgwidden Beach where you can find the Porthgwidden Beach cafe/restaurant. Further round the headland brings you to Porthmeor Beach, reknowed for its surf and sunsets.

The colours of the sea and the extraordinary light have drawn artists from across the globe to this wonderful town. There are many art galleries and independent craft shops to wander around and rotating modern art exhibitions focussing on Bristish artists can be seen at the famous Tate St Ives Gallery. St Ives also boasts the Barbara Hepworth Musuem and Sculpture Garden where her bronzes and other works are displayed.

If you are coming by train to St Ives you will travel along one of the most scenic routes in England - from St Erth past the golden sands of Hayle Towans and glistening blue water of Carbis Bay to St Ives. The Lighthouse is just a two minute walk from the train station.
